I'm very excited about thesse dates! Andy Irvine is a fantastic bassist, formerly of On The One. He's asked me to join him for some 2-bass stuff on his cd release party at the moose, celebrating the debut of Soul Clap, his first solo release.

This is an ultra-cool extension of Fat Albert, which features vocalist Karee Miller. It's high-energy, cutting-edge dance music that promises to groove HARD!!!
Banyan is: Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction), Willie Waldman (Snoop Dogg), Brian Jordan (Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Lauryn Hill), Norton Wisdom (artist), and me, Andy Calder. These are my first dates with this band, and it is very exciting! Banyan deliberately changes its lineup from time to time, to keep things fresh and interesting.
The bass players who do most of the dates are Mike Watt (Minutemen) and Rob Wasserman (Ratdog, Lou Reed, etc.). Others who occasionally rotate in include Norwood Fisher (Fishbone) and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
The music is HIGHLY improvisational, so you just can't predict what's gonna happen. Perkins hits HARD, and he's usually got a tribal-heavy-metal thing going. Jordan is one of the funkiest guitar players on earth, but he definitely knows what to do when it's time to step on the gas for full-throttle screaming guitar. Willie is kind of like Miles Davis, on acid, with a heavy-metal backup band (I realize that's hard to imagine). All the while, Norton Wisdom creates beauty and mayhem via watercolors. And I lay down a foundation for all this...
Banyan usually draws big crowds, so get tix in advance!

This is gonna be a great tour: L.A. trumpet ace Willie Waldman (Snoop Dogg, Tu-Pac), stage painter Norton Wisdom (this guy is insanely talented), SoCal guitarist Cameron Morgan, and L.A. drummer Maxwell Vision. I've worked with Willie and Wisdom before, but never the other guys. I really like their stuff, though, so it should be really cool. Oh, yeah, it's entirely improvisational, so we can't predict the result. I have been listening to everyones' stuff, though, and I have a few guesses about the direction. I am excited about these shows!

Blues legend Bob Greenspan. I have not played a gig with Bob in over a year, and these shows always kick ass. This will be a fun one!

New Years Eve on a mountain top!
Coulior Restaraunt at the top of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's gondala:Teton Village, WY(MAP)
A New Years Eve bash at 9100 feet, overlooking all of Jackson Hole! This one is sure to go down in the books as one of the most spectacular settings for an NYE celebration. Reservations are required, so call (307) 733-2292 soon!
Tape will be spinning on this one! That's right, we're recording material our new Live at the Silver Dollar CD at this show. It's always rowdy and crazy with OTP at the Silver Dollar, so don't miss this one.
I'm subbing on this date, but it won't feel like it. The Miller Sisters are great friends, and it's always a pleasure to jump on stage with them. Plus, we're playing with Jerry Joseph, a SERIOUS hero of mine. Jerry is perhaps the most important songwriter in my lifetime, and I can't wait to do a show with him. This show is free, and it's open to all ages.
This is a great thing they have going over there in Driggs, and it's FREE! Crowds have been big (2,000+ this year), and Los Lobos is the hottest band on the schedule. Big stage, big sound, big crowd. Awesome!
These are always good jams. This one features Willie on trumpet, Terry Safford (from Isaac Hayes Band), Brian Jordan (Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Lauryn Hill), and some others.
This is a gig with an improv comedy troupe, whereupon we (Jeff Eidemiller, Andy Peterson, and I) will provide music for the comedians when it is appropriate. I have never done one of these before, but it sounds like fun.

Crowne Plaza Hotel (Soul Impressions private function)
Marmot outerwear is sponsoring this party, an apres-ski end-of-the-season bash that is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Cold beer, warm sun, mountains! You know the drill: standard JH in the springtime!
I love these gigs. One Ton Pig is a honky-tonk rock and country group that always PACKS the joint, and I enjoy the opportunity to play with them once in a while.
Another one for the history books! It's a Fat Albert jam, followed by a Banyan jam, followed by a big jam with everyone. Banyan features our friends Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction, Porno For Pyros), Rob Wasserman (Ratdog, Lou Reed, illustrious solo career), trumpeter Willie Waldman, and stage painter Norton Wisdom.

This is part of a monthly concert series presented by the Jackson Hole Music Experience. It is open to ALL AGES, and families are encouraged to attend. Admission is free to all JHME members, and $10 for non-members. Memberships are available at the door.
Lineup on this gig is myself, guitarist Jeff Eidemiller, Pat Wright on piano, and Andy Peterson on drums. This gig has been cancelled. We got edged out by Bob Marley's Birthday celebration. Maybe we should add some reggae tunes to the set.
This show will be quite a spectacle. It was moved from the Cutthroat Bar to 43 North, because of the number of "friends" we expect to be on hand. It's the regular Fat Albert lineup, plus:DJ Logic (Project Logic, Soulive, Medeski, Martin, and Wood, etc), Ray White (guitarist/vocalist from Frank Zappa), Norton Wisdom (interpretive stage painter), Willie Waldman (trumpet player with Snoop Dogg, Coolio, Death Row Records), and Terry Safford (drummer with Isaac Hayes). This is all happening on a Monday night, and the cover charge is only $5. With this crew, we are gonna wing it and see what happens. Anything goes!
New Year's Eve!!! This trio will feature Jeff Eidemiller on guitar, Patrick Wright on piano, and myself on upright bass. This will definitely be a classy affair, and reservations are recommended.
A special Christmas Week Tram Jam Celebration, brought to you by the friendly folks at the Snake River Sporting Club. We'll be outside on the patio from 1 until 4, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Come and check it out. It don't cost nuthin'.

The granddaddy of all parties, this is the Snow King Halloween Party! More than 3500 people will be at this show, so we'll have an extra-special production including a full horn section, and an enormous audio production! Stay tuned for more details!
This is a last-minute gig we picked up because we found out that our good friend Ross Martin would be in town for the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival this weekend, and he was hoping to do some playing the night before. Ross is quite an in-demand guitarist these days, playing with such illustrious groups as the Motet, Tony Furtado, Drew Emmitt, Mollie O'Brien, etc. This is definitely a Fat Albert show that should not be missed, and there will be NO COVER CHARGE for this event.
This show was just added as of 8/1, so it's last-minute. The bride at the wedding that night with the Soul Impressions wanted to move the party to the Coach afterward, so she arranged for Fat Albert to play a PUBLIC SHOW at the Stagecoach! NO COVER CHARGE!!!
This is a dinner jazz gig, running from 7:30-10:30 all summer. Generally, it will be myself, along with Jeff Eidemiller and Chris Moran on guitars, although we may have some special guests here and there. This is a weekly gig that will run all summer. DAVID HALLIDAY WILL BE JOINING US FOR THIS SHOW!!!
We added a Monday show to the schedule this week at the special request of the owner of the Mangy Moose. It couldn't fall at a better time, as we've got some very special guests in town to teach at Rock and Roll Camp. David Halliday will be there, and we expect bassist Ariane Cap and guitarist Ross Martin to join us for some tunes, as well. As always, showtime is 7:30-10:30.

This is a WIDESPREAD PANIC AFTERPARTY at the bar that is located only a few feet from the stage! We've got some very special horn player guests (David Halliday of GALACTIC and some of his friends) who are going to join us for this occasion, and you just never know who else might stop by! Don't miss this one!

Last-minute change on this one!!! We were supposed to have been at the Cutthroat, but this has been moved to the better setting of 43 North, outside on the patio. We'll play from 5:30 until 9:00 or so.

Four Seasons Resort (Soul Impressions private wedding)
This is part of the Jackson Hole Music Experience's 3rd Friday Live Concert Series, and it's going to be a lot of fun! This show is ALL AGES, and it starts at 5:00 in the multi-purpose room at the Center For The Arts on Glenwood Street. The Jackson Hole Music Experience is presenting the show, and representatives will be on hand to discuss this exciting organization. Memberships will be available, and the whole thing will be a lot of fun! A $10 donation will be encouraged at the door.
This is the annual Jackson Hole Ski Patrol end-of-season party, and we're putting together a great band for the occasion. It's going to be Peter Chandler singing, Andy Peterson (Soul Impressions, Tram Jam) on drums, John Pansewicz (Mandatory Air) on guitar, Mark Longfield (Mandatory Air) on keys, and myself on bass. It will be an awesome send-off after a great season!
This is a part of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's Mountain Festival. This particular event is sponsored by Marmot, and there will be some great give-aways and prizes.
This will be a crazy Idaho-style St. Patrick's Day Party!!! There's no potato famine to fret about in Idaho, just an abundance of booze. Don't miss this one!
Outside, no matter the weather, at the base of the Gondola!!! Make some runs with us after the show! THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CHANGED TO SUNDAY, INSTEAD OF OUR USUAL SATURDAY. The Soul Impressions plan to ski Big Sky on Saturday, the morning after the show at the Yellowstone Club!
Ski Bum Music Festival. I am playing with both Waist Deep and SuperSwag. Global Review will be playing this show, as well, along with our friend Sue Zajac and her crew of African dancers. It's a fundraiser for the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Forecast Center. This is always an incredible party!
